In 2023, I had the opportunity to work with the business, Bodacious Body Beads, to create packaging for a set of their skincare products. Since the shop is based in Florida, I wanted to emulate their business's warmth by including the sun throughout the design. With this shop's organic ingredients being sourced from their family farm, it felt important to include information about their effective properties, and how they are beneficial to the skin.
The outer sleeve of the set includes a cutout in the shape of a setting sun to display the products inside. The sleeve is designed to slide off of the inner packaging.
The set includes a card for the customer to learn more about the benefits of the ingredients found in each product. I used Procreate for the illustrations and assembled this design in Illustrator.
The inner package has slots to keep the products in place. The red lines indicate where the cuts would be made, and the dashed lines are where the folds would be glued down.
The targeted audience may be seeking simple, organic ingredients in their skincare products, and the cardboard gives an earthy, organic feel to further influence their feelings.
I also included packaging for one of the serums in the set. This is individual packaging for their Shine Bright aloe serum. The color variation is in correlation to the main ingredient of this product.
For the design process, I selected the colors I felt would be fitting for this brand. I also made three mood boards for inspiration and sketched out the messages I aimed to communicate in the design.
